A catalyst is a substance that increases the rate, or speed, of a reaction, at some temperature, without itself being transformed. A catalyst does this by reducing the energy required for the reaction to occur, thus saving energy, time and money.
The Fitch Fuel Catalyst induces chemical reactions among fuel molecules at low temperatures such as those our vehicles and fuel tanks experience and it returns to its original state at the conclusion of the reaction ready to initiate a new sequence.
Reformulation of Hydrocarbon Fuel with the Fitch Fuel Catalyst
Fuels are complex and most of us think of fuels such as gasoline as a homogeneous commodity without realizing that it is not perfect or uniform. As purchased at the pump, fuel is a mixture of about forty primary but as many as a thousand secondary different species of hydrocarbon molecules.
Over time, engines develop problems caused by sub-optimal fuel which include gumming, constriction of fuel systems and carbon deposits in the combustion chamber and exhaust system. This is one reason that today's vehicles need an exhaust catalytic converter (Catalyst) to reduce toxic auto emissions. These toxic gases, unburned hydrocarbons (UHC) and carbon monoxide (CO), would not exist if the fuel/energy conversion in the engine was perfect.
Exhaust system catalytic converters provide an environment for a chemical reaction where unburned hydrocarbons further combust. Hence, the combustion process continues but outside of the engine combustion chamber where no useful energy is extracted. The Fitch works in a similar fashion but prior to combustion which provides better overall combustion and hence the many benefits obtained.

With a Fitch Fuel Catalyst, it is possible to deal with fuel problems in an effective way. The Catalyst reformulates fuel prior to combustion on board the vehicle, preventing oxygen and most bacteria from attacking the fuel and reversing any degradation that may have occurred prior to the fuel being introduced to the vehicle. The Fitch assists the combustion process by insuring that fuel is highly uniform, potent, consistent and stable. It performs its function at the temperatures experienced in fuel tanks without any requirement for elevated temperatures or pressures, which is what makes the Fitch Fuel Catalyst so convenient and useful.
The Fitch Fuel Catalyst is not a fuel additive, it is a special alloy catalyst that does not dissolve in fuel. On the alloy surface, the fuel is reformulated to a state that is capable of a more complete combustion. As a result, the engine converts the chemical energy in the fuel to mechanical energy in a more efficient manner. The engine power is increased as a result and the toxic exhaust emissions are decreased, frequently by more than half.
The Catalyst makes a material difference in engine's power, fuel economy, and maintenance costs as well as air quality. As engines of all vintages use similar fuel, the Fitch Fuel Catalyst can be manufactured to suit any engine, of any size with full confidence.
The technology on which the Fitch Fuel Catalyst is based has been a widely accepted process used in the petroleum industry dating back to the mid 1800’s. This industry uses catalysts in the cracking process during refining to break large hydrocarbons into smaller ones. According to the American Institute of Physics “Catalytic cracking is used to convert heavy hydrocarbon fractions obtained by vacuum distillation into a mixture of more useful products such as petrol and light fuel oil".
The Fitch Catalyst does essentially the same thing on a much smaller scale in the fuel line of your engine, boiler, furnace, or turbine. Any hydrocarbon based fuel that passes over the catalyst is refreshed and made into a more combustible fuel resulting in a more complete burn. The more complete burn ensures that the maximum energy is being extracted from the fuel while harmful emissions are being reduced.

THE PROBLEM IS FUEL DEGRADATION
It is widely known in engine service centers that about 70 percent of engine failures are fuel-related. Given a little heat, moisture and time, the oxidative process takes over quickly on today's stored fuels, creating gum, resin and varnish -”cholesterol” for a major engine “coronary” and power shut down. In Indonesia where high temperatures and humidity occur year round is particularly relevant.
The problem begins with today's modern fuels. These so-called "clean" fuels typically deteriorate at much faster rates than fuels made 20 years ago. While all fuels suffer from the problem, most at risk are the reformulated gasoline's (RFG) that contain oxygenate additives, derivatives of methyl alcohol and ethyl alcohol. We've seen gasoline have shelf life as little as a month-particularly if it is subjected to heat and moisture.
Diesel fuels fare a little better, but not much. Most all diesel fuel, including low sulfur versions, has a shelf life of from 3 to 6 months. In part, this has to do with new processing techniques developed by refiners in recent years. While the new refining methods are more efficient, producing more gasoline per barrel of crude, these fuels are often far less stable than the conventional "straight run" fuels we had before.
To make matters worse, the quality of the crude oil feedstock going into the refinery changes daily with each shipment. Processing equipment must be precisely adjusted to these varying qualities, but it doesn't always happen. This neglect results in poorly processed, less stable fuels. One oil company survey indicates that at least 50 percent of the gasoline sold today is substandard.
The Fitch Fuel Catalyst treats the fuel and not the engine or machinery. The result is a fresher fuel that burns more completely resulting is lower emissions and more efficient combustion. On engines mpg is improved 6-20+% and on oil burners fuel savings is generally 12% - 25% or more.

If fuel were pure, there would be few or only one type of molecule. Natural gas types of molecules are too short and light, and asphalt types of molecules are too long and heavy, yet many of these light and heavy molecules are in the gasoline and diesel fuels available at the pump / fueling stations.
Refineries, where fuel is manufactured from crude oil, cannot economically remove many poorly performing molecules to make a more ideal fuel. In addition, once fuel leaves the refinery or is stored it is subject to attack by oxygen, ozone, and microorganisms (bacteria, yeast, & mold) that grow in the fuel.
All these processes degrade the fuel to make a poorer product that prevents engines from performing at optimum levels. This poor quality fuel does not combust completely in engines and does not yield its maximum potential energy. Some of it forms carbon deposits and gums, and some is not completely burned putting unburned hydrocarbons into the exhaust and engine oil.
